This week in music …
Kindergarten
- Continued working on vocal development
- Continued improvising movements for high and low sounds
Grade 1
- Continued working on vocal development by singing in tune and using a singing voice
- Started to learn about the sol-fa notes “mi, so and la” and how to use our hand as a tool to place these notes on the musical staff
Grade 2
- Continued working on vocal development by singing in tune and using a singing voice
- Continued working with the sol-fa notes and using our hands as a tool to place these notes on a musical staff. “Do” and “Re” were introduced this week
- Learned how to play tic-tac-toe by reading different sol-fa patterns
Grade 3 & 4
- Continued working with sol-fa notes, labelling the sol-fa notes on different songs and then playing these songs on the xylophones
- Reviewed what a time signature is and that it stands for how many beats are in a bar, not how many notes
