Dear Choir Students (and Parents):
Our biggest week of the year is about to begin.  This is a short breakdown of what you need to be prepared for:

Tuesday, December 3 - rehearsal at lunch
Thursday, December 5 - rehearsal at lunch
Monday, December 9 - EXTRA rehearsal at lunch
Tuesday, December 10 - rehearsal IN THE GYM
Wednesday, December 11 - sing at senior’s complex - begin walking over at 9:20 - dress appropriately for a fifteen minute walk - dark bottoms and white top
Thursday, December 12 - rehearsal at lunch
Thursday, December 12 - sing in the afternoon for the school at 2:15 - dark bottoms and white top
Thursday, December 12 - evening concert - be in the music room by 6:15 - dress in your finest clothes

Missing all of you!

Hi Everyone!!! Wow ... what a week!  I hope and everyone of you are doing well!   I am missing you all so much and what we were creating in the music room! I am safe and healthy and was working at the school this week. Kindergarten students, I miss teaching you how to sing "O Canada" and talking about a heart beat with you! Grade 1 and 2 students, I am missing your sweet voices while singing and teaching you about the sol-fa notes. Grade 3 and 4 students, I am missing your xylophone playing and watching you grow with your sol-fa notes.  TASC students, I am missing your smiles and giggles and working with the different shaking instruments with you. Please know that I am thinking about each and everyone of you and if you need anything or want to share something with me I would LOVE to hear about it!!  Today I took a little break and went for a walk outside and enjoyed the fresh air!  Hopefully the snow starts melting soon and spring is around the ...

First day of Music!!

Today was a great first day back at school! Some of the Grade 3 and 4 students had music today.  They had the chance to work in small groups solving a music puzzle. January 7th - 10th

January 6 th – 10 th HAPPY NEW YEAR to all of you.   This week in music … All classes had the chance to start African drumming this week!   During this week, students were working on keeping a steady beat and echoing rhythm patterns. Grade 1 students have also been working on their 2 songs that they will be sharing at the Celebration of Learning in February.   Next week, Grade 1 and 2 students who are interested in joining choir will be coming home with a blue permission form.   The details about choir will be on the permission form and if you have any further questions please don’t hesitate to email me.
