This week in music ...
Kindergarten student:
- responded to tone matching and echo games by singing the "Hello" song and "Slippery Fish"
- explored the sound of various musical instruments by using the egg shakers, rhythm sticks and hand drum
- practiced standing for "O Canada"
Grade 1:
- responded to tone matching and echo games by singing "Ham & Eggs," "Boom Boom" & the first verse of the "Chance" song
- explored the sound of various musical instruments by using the egg shakers, rhythm sticks and hand drum
- continued working on building rhythm patterns using "ta," "titi" and "sh"
- learned how to play a game called "Busted" - ask your child how to play this game!
Grade 2:
- played simple rhythm patterns on the wooden spoons
- continued exploring, building patterns and using different notes and rests - with an emphasis on the half rest and whole rest
- responded to tone matching while singing
Grade 3:
- played simple rhythm patterns on the wooden spoons
- continued exploring and building patterns using the 2/4 time signature
- continued vocal development
Grade 4:
- played simple rhythm patterns on the wooden spoons
- continued exploring and building patterns using 4/4 time signature
